Warm greetings! We hope this finds you well and filled with curiosity for the world. It’s been a while since we wrote an update about everything that’s been going on at Himalayan Quests. We’ve been hard at work creating new ways to make your adventures in Nepal more meaningful and unforgettable.

Over the past few weeks, we have welcomed new team members, expanded our office space and refined our services; all to ensure every journey you take with us is authentic, sustainable and filled with memorable moments. Our goal remains unchanged: to create experiences that go beyond trekking, immersing you deeply in the landscapes and cultures of the Himalayas.

Monsoon’s Farewell: Trails Awakening

The monsoon season is still with us but this year, the rains have been gentler compared to last year’s devastating floods. While there have been isolated cases of local flooding and some trail blockages, particularly in river valleys and higher elevations, major trekking routes remain safe and accessible.

Mornings right now are enchanting; soft mist, cool breezes, and the aroma of freshly brewed chiya drifting through the air. Soon, the rains will retreat completely, leaving behind lush green hillsides, vibrant wildflowers and a freshness that makes this season feel magical. It’s the perfect prelude to what many call the best trekking season in Nepal.

Why Autumn in Nepal is Truly Special

Autumn in the Himalayas is pure perfection. The skies open up, revealing crystal clear views of the world’s highest peaks. The air turns crisp, the trails glow under golden sunlight and the entire landscape feels alive with energy.

This season is not just about nature; it’s about culture too. September marks the arrival of Indra Jatra, one of Kathmandu Valley’s most iconic festivals. During this celebration, ancient streets come alive with music, traditional dances, colourful masks and sacred rituals. The city vibrates with stories of gods and legends while the aroma of Newari feasts fills the air. Experiencing Indra Jatra is like stepping into a living museum of Nepalese heritage.

Giving Back: Our HQ Foundation Initiatives

Adventure with purpose has always been at the heart of Himalayan Quests. Through our non-profit, HQ Foundation, we’ve been working tirelessly to improve lives in remote regions of Nepal. Over the past months, our efforts have included running health camps, initiating sanitation projects and now, starting the full-scale construction of a new health post in Lamjung district. This health facility will bring much needed medical care to villages, bringing better healthcare within easier reach.
