Lokshara was born in a tiny, remote village in Humla in the far north west of the country, the second youngest of 9 children.  Both she and her younger brother were sent to Kathmandu as very small children in the mid 1990s during the height on the Maoist insurgency to ensure their safety and with the promise that they would receive a good education.  After a very, very bumpy start, they, along with 30 other children from the same area were taken under the guardianship of a local NGO and it was in the Shining Stars Children’s Home, located in Lalitpur that Lokshara grew up.

She is now living in Kathmandu with one of her sisters and is studying for a Bachelors degree in Information, Communications and Technology, one of just two girls in her year group.

Lokshara is a ray of sunshine in the HQ office, always smiling, often singing, happy to help wherever she can and keen to learn new things.

In her free time Lokshara loves to spend time with friends, exploring new places, dancing and making Tik Tok videos.
