Meet Amrit
With nearing 20 years of experience leading adventure trips, Amrit is passionate about his country and culture and loves to explore his home and to share the joys of Nepal with others. Amrit is an avid climber, mountaineer and outdoor educator and is Wilderness Emergency Medicine Technician (WEMT ) and Wilderness First Aid instructor qualified.
Amrit grew up in the foothills of the Nepali Himalayas, to the West of Pokhara and spent every available moment exploring the region by foot, or playing in the rapids on the Aadhi Khola River.

His passion for the outdoor life continued after he graduated when he went to work for the family adventure sports business, offering him the opportunity to raft many of Nepal’s awesome rivers and trek and climb the country’s majestic peaks.
Amrit’s desire to learn more and expand his horizons took him to the USA on a scholarship, where he qualified as an instructor for the National Leadership School (NOLS), leading trips within the Rocky Mountains and the Himalayas. Continuing his international links, Amrit has been working hand in hand with leading experiential learning education company, Where There Be Dragons since 2009, firstly as an instructor in the Indian, Ladakh and Nepal Himalaya, then moving behind the scenes to organise the logistics for their Nepal programmes. As part of his ethos of giving back, since 2009 each January he has worked as a volunteer ice climbing instructor for the Khumbu Climbing Centre in Phortse in the Everest region, teaching technical skills to high altitude Sherpas ahead of the expedition season. In acknowledgement of his hard work, technical and business skills in 2019 he was made Executive Director of the climbing centre. He was also invited to be a member of the 2019 National Geographic Perpetual Planet Expedition up Mount Everest, designed to measure the impact of climate change on the Himalaya.

GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY
The Himalayan Quests Foundation was established to run and manage the ever-increasing number of social projects that Himalayan Quests began, starting with the first series of free health camps in the spring of 2013. To say we have been overwhelmed by the response to and support for our projects is an understatement. It is thanks to our partners, donors and stakeholders that we are able to expand the social aspect of our work offering grassroots support at a community level.

“Loved hiking with Himalayan Quests”
I had the most awesome experience with Himalayan Quests! The thoughtfulness, professionalism, experience and knowledge of the guides and staff was fantastic and just added to an all round amazing experience.
“The only choice!”
My sister, uncle and I had THE most amazing experience. Amrit and the gang cared and treated us like family. Spirits high we made it to Everest Base Camp and Kalapatar and loved every minute of the trek.
“Go to Nepal and go with Himalayan Quests”
Our family of 5 (3 teenage daughters) just returned from an amazing adventure. Amrit & Kate Ale were spot on in the planning and preparation for our 2 week trip to Nepal. Their suggestions for our trek and itinerary were perfect. The Mardi Himal trek was exactly what we were looking for.
“Highly Recommend”
“Nunc molestie eros nec eros auctor, a dapibus diam iaculis. Aliquam erat volutpat.”
