Off the Tourist Trail

The Himalayas offer hundreds of trekking routes, many of which are unknown and left untrodden by your average trekker, in favour of the classic treks. Himalayan Quests specialises in treks away from the crowds, enabling you to experience the solitude, beauty and unique cultures the mountains and their people have to offer. Many of these treks are sections of the Great Himalayan Trail (GHT), a trekking trail that runs through the entire length of Nepal’s Himalayan Range, from the district of Taplejung in the East, to Humla and Darchula in the West. The GHT covers a distance of 1700km for the upper trail, or 1550km for the lower trail. It can be divided into 10 connecting treks, each one offering a unique experience and insight into the different ethnic groups of this colourful, diverse country.
